The Military Ombudsman presented the Award “For the Protection of Servicemembers’ Rights” for the first time
On the occasion of the International Human Rights Day on 10 December, Military Ombudsman Olha Reshetylova (Kobylynska) presented the Military Ombudsman’s Award “For the Protection of Servicemembers’ Rights” for the first time in Ukraine.
The award was presented to the servicemembers of the Navy’s special intelligence unit “Angels,” who, between 2022 and 2025, evacuated 92 Ukrainians from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, including active-duty servicemembers, veterans, members of the resistance movement, and their family members.
“The observance of human rights must become the default setting of Ukraine’s Defence Forces. It must begin with every servicemember’s confidence that, regardless of the circumstances they face, the state will do everything possible to protect them,” commented Military Ombudsman Olha Reshetylova.
The Military Ombudsman’s Award “For the Protection of Servicemembers’ Rights” is made of rhodium-plated silver in the form of a lapel pin and resembles the Coat of Arms of Ukraine. On the reverse side, a secret inscription executed in enamel features text written in the Brody script.
At the request of the Office of the Military Ombudsman, the award was crafted by the masters of the Lobortas Classic Jewellery House.
