Decisions and decrees

Human Above All!

This fundamental principle must guide every decision in the military at all levels: the human being, their life, and their health are the highest value.

And this was the exact focus of our event at the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 in Gdansk. Together with the Superhumans Center and UGV LAB, we shared with our Western partners and the international community how ground robotic systems and other innovations are saving lives on the battlefield.

The Military Ombudsman emphasized that the main goal of miltech development is not technology for the sake of technology, but saving the lives of our warriors and preserving human dignity. Olha Reshetylova urged international partners to support Ukraine not only in the economic or security dimensions but also in the joint defense of democratic values, as Ukraine today is the outpost of democracy in Europe.

A combat medic from the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians, who came to Ukraine in 2022 to help our defenders, shared her experience of saving her brothers- and sisters-in-arms. To participate in this event, Major Asan Charukhov — commander of the 1st Separate Medical Battalion — traveled to Gdansk directly from the front line to explain how rescue operations are planned and conducted.

Olha Rudnieva, co-founder of the modern war trauma center Superhumans, noted that most of their patients undergo amputations of one, two, three, or even four limbs specifically due to prolonged evacuation times from positions. Such "supers" require significantly longer treatment, greater resources, and more support.

Veteran Maksym Vysotskyi shared his story of losing a leg after stepping on a mine, but thanks to the medical aid that arrived within the "golden hour," much more severe consequences were avoided, and 5 months later, he returned to his civilian job.

We thank the speakers, partners, participants, and organizers of the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 for a meaningful dialogue that united governments, international organizations, businesses, and civil society around a shared goal — the recovery of Ukraine.
